JAZZ GAME

Thursday afternoon my friend called me and asked if I wanted to go to the Jazz game with her. She knew that I was probably already planning on going to the game...but she knows how much I love and appreciate my JAZZ...even when it is a hard thing to do...and her brother's friend had gotten seats on the 2nd row and there were 2 extra if I wanted to go with her...so I called the friend I was planning on going to the game with and asked her if she would hate me if I ditched her...it wasn't all bad though cuz I offered both of the tickets to her so she could still go and just find somebody else to go with her...when I told her the reason she totally understood...I will just have to make it up to her later in the season and go to another game with her so she can enjoy a game in my presence!!! We got down there around 5:15 and got a parking spot right across from the arena without having to pay a penny...anyway, the ticket included dinner at the 100 Club which is a restaurant on the 6th floor of the arena...I was in 7th Heaven!! the meal was good and it was so cool!!! I ended up taking a few (ok 88) pictures of my amazing night!!! This is the first time I have ever been able to look up at the jumbotron...but where I was sitting I didn't even need to look at it...I was able to actually watch the action on the floor!! My camera isn't the best and with some of the pictures you can totally see that...but some of the pictures aren't too bad!! I won't make you look at all 88 pictures, just a few of the best ones.

line-up for the national anthem

YEP...we were that close...even though our ticket said row 2 we were actually 4 rows behind the Phoenix bench...but still...WOW...
I thought this one was kinda cool showing the action even if it is kinda blurry...especially the head of the person right in front of me!!

I thought 22 on the other team was kinda cute...so I have a few of him!!

I have a lot of shots of the Phoenix team...I don't love Phoenix...but it was REALLY cool to be so close to so many NBA players at one time!! And I decided that Grant Hill is my favorite Phoenix player (especially since Raja came back to Utah).
there he is again...#22...oh wait, I think I took this picture because it is a pretty good shot of "the new guy". that is my excuse anyway... :)
this is a shot from my seat on Thursday night, up to my season ticket seats...it's WAY up there... it isn't on the top row but it isn't too far from the top!!

Jazz huddle...I had to try to get at least one picture of that since I had a few of the Phoenix team...it is just too bad that we weren't sitting on that side...but I can't really complain, the ticket was free!!!
I had to try to get a couple of close up shots of this guy...he is one of my co-worker's favorite players...not!!!
this is really her favorite player...that is why I had to try and get a good shot of him.

I don't think he (Nash) played at all in the 2nd half, I wondered if he got hurt or if they really didn't want to play him too much because it is still preseason? or is he just getting too old to play as much??

I had to take this picture...even though he spells his name wrong, it is still a good name!!! he played pretty good too...the few minutes he actually got to be on the court.

the final score...

after the game on the court...we had to wear our ticket all night...it got us into the dinner and snacks at half-time in the 100 club...where we had a good visit with the Laydens. I was waiting for Laura and trying to find a seat to wait for her and this lady said I could sit by her. She just started talking to me and she was really friendly. Then they started talking to Scott Layden on the half-time show and she said that's my son...I couldn't believe it was her...and then Frank came over and Laura showed up so the 4 of us had a grand old conversation...funny....

the both of us. Thank you Laura for thinking of me...and thank you Lane for having a friend that has connections!!!

and then after we finally left...this cute guy is walking towards us...I thought should I take his picture...or should I ask him if it is ok if I take his picture...I decided I should ask him...and that was a smart choice because then he was looking and smiling right into my camera!!!

What an amazing night...I have to bask in it and remember it forever...cuz I don't know that it will ever happen again. The price on the ticket was $504...there is no way I will ever be paying that much for one ticket...it is more than I pay for one of my entire season tickets...

Oh and one other person of note that we saw when we were walking around the bottom level trying to find our seats...one of my all-time favorite Jazz men...Jeff Hornacek...why didn't I think to ask if I could take his picture?? oh well...the other 88 pictures and my memories will have to do!!!

  1. No WAY! Extreme lower bowl seats, plus Memo AND Horny? I will try to contain my jealousness. Loved the pics. Looks like you girls had a great time!
